WE Surveys Survey Overview

WE Teach

The WE TEACH Instructional Staff Survey is a companion to the WE LEARN Student Survey correlated by item so that perceptions of teaching staff can be compared to students' perceptions of the same topic and issues. Items in the WE TEACH also relate to rigor, relevance, relationships and leadership.

WE Lead

The WE LEAD Whole Staff Survey is used by schools to identify areas of leadership strength and areas to focus development. The WE LEAD survey helps model schools use qualitative data to monitor progress towards goals. Perceptions about leadership are organized around five factors of effective leadership: Coherent Vision, Empowerment, Culture of Learning, Community Partnerships, and School Management.

WE Learn

The WE LEARN Student Survey is available in two versions: grades 3-5 or grades 6-12. This survey includes items related to rigor, relevance, relationships and leadership and seeks to determine whether, for example, students feel challenged, see the connection between school and the real world, etc.

WE Support

The WE SUPPORT Community Survey assesses community perceptions of the school experience as well as the community's expectations of the school system. The WE SUPPORT emphasizes the importance of a school community's role in sustaining an academic culture that promotes relationships leading to rigor and relevance for all students.

WE INSPIRE Staff Survey & WE SUCCEED Student Survey

Like SPN’s nationally recognized WE Teach™ Survey for instructional staff and WE Learn™ Survey for students, the new WE INSPIRE Staff Survey and WE SUCCEED Student Survey continues to measure the components of methodology (Rigor, Relevance, and Learner Engagement) but has also been designed to answer key questions about students’ tenacity in regard to their learning, including:

  • Do students feel a sense of social and academic belonging?

  • Do students believe school is shaping them for their future?

  • Do students see the importance of being challenged in school and challenging themselves to succeed?

  • Do students have the mindset to remain engaged academically?

These two surveys were designed to correlate with each other on a question by question basis. This model allows for similarities or discrepancies in perceptions between students and staff to be identified.

WE ARE READY - Student

The WE ARE READY Student Survey helps students assess their own level of career readiness and how they feel school is preparing them for life after graduation. This survey includes items related to Collaboration, Problem Solving, Self-Advocacy, Self-Reflection, and Communication to measure how the culture and climate of the school impacts career readiness.

WE ARE READY - Staff

The WE ARE READY Staff Survey asks teachers to reflect on how the school is helping students to become career ready. This survey is a companion to the WE ARE READY Student Survey, correlated by item so that perceptions of teaching staff can be compared to students' perceptions of the same concepts and indicators.
